Baby Weight Percentile
Children's Health Centre by checkit.health
What is a baby weight percentile?
A percentile compares your baby to others of the same age and sex. The 50th percentile is the median. A baby on the 25th percentile weighs more than 25% of babies that age — perfectly healthy. What matters most is that your baby keeps following their own curve over time.
Is a low or high percentile a problem?
Not on its own. Healthy babies come in all sizes, and breastfed and formula-fed babies grow slightly differently. Health professionals watch the trend across visits rather than a single point. Talk to your health visitor if your baby suddenly crosses several percentile lines.
